Three hours beside the lake, moving slowly and in circles rather than in a straight line — because depth, not distance, is the point.

Who this is for

For people who want to go further in without going higher up. The terrain is identical to our shortest walk — flat, gentle, no climbing — but the time is doubled, and time is the active ingredient in forest bathing. Most guests find the real shift happens somewhere in the second hour, which the shorter session simply doesn't reach.

What we actually do

We walk in slow, circling awareness along the lakeshore, returning to places rather than passing them. There is extended ground rest: lying on mats beneath the canopy, watching the branches move, letting the body drop into parasympathetic rest. There is silence, held together rather than awkwardly. There is tea.

Why longer changes everything

The nervous system does not switch over on command. It needs unhurried time and repeated signals of safety before it lets go. Ninety minutes opens the door. Three hours walks through it. If you have the time and you know you are carrying something heavy, choose this one.

Practical notes

Flat and unhurried, but three hours on your feet with breaks. Comfortable shoes, water, a warm layer. Mats provided. Meets at Moto-Hakone Port, in the same quiet forest area as Introductory Shinrin-yoku.

Looking up. The trees along this shore lean out over the water, and the light comes off it twice.

And then the part most people resist and later remember: sitting still, doing nothing at all.

Questions

Before you come

How is this different from Introductory Shinrin-yoku?

Same forest, same flat terrain, twice the time. The extra hours are where the deeper rest happens.

Will we actually lie down?

Yes, weather permitting — ground rest is a core part of this session, not an optional extra.

Is it suitable for older guests?

Yes, provided three hours of gentle walking with frequent stops is comfortable for you.
