The Breathe Hakone privacy policy explains what we collect, why we have it and how to get it removed.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run your booking and answer your questions. We do not sell your data, and we never have. If you want your information deleted, email us and we will delete it.
Breathe Hakone is a brand of Coconuts Hike Japan, a guiding business based in Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan. Coconuts Hike Japan is the data controller for information collected through this website and through your booking.

When you click "book" anywhere on this site, you are taken to coconutshikejapan.com, where the booking form and payment take place. Information you enter there is collected by Coconuts Hike Japan.
If you booked through a third-party platform, that platform also collects your data under its own privacy policy, and we receive only what the platform passes on to us.
We share personal information only where it is necessary to deliver your session:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your guide photographs the session and sends you the images afterwards — this is included in every walk. We may also use images for promotion on this website, on social media, or in listings.
You can opt out at any time, before or after your session, simply by telling us in writing. We will not use your images, and if any are already published we will remove them. You do not need to give a reason.
We keep booking records for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes under Japanese law. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted once they are no longer relevant. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.
When analytics is enabled, this site asks for your permission before loading Google Analytics 4. If you accept, it records information such as pages viewed, approximate region, device type and clicks that lead to a booking or enquiry. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded. Your choice is stored in your browser so that we do not ask on every page.
You can block or delete browser storage at any time; the site and booking links will still work. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms. We use these reports to improve the website and understand which pages lead guests to contact or book with us; we do not use them for advertising.

We are based in Japan, so if you book from outside Japan your information will be processed in Japan. Some of the services we rely on — such as email, payment processing and booking platforms — may store data in other countries under their own safeguards.
We do not knowingly collect information from children directly. Bookings involving children are made by a parent or guardian, who provides any information needed for the child's safety.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
